Identity, culture express themselves in many different ways. Design, for instance, is one of them. Design may be a universal language, but each design speaks its own particular dialect tightly linked to the people, the place, the time, the context where the idea was first born and materialised.

Sometimes the past is so contemporary. Expormim has gone to those days with the intention to recover the first Lapala woven chair, the original, so typical of the Mediterranean. The sculptural design, conceived by Lievore Altherr Molina studio in 1998, turns 25 years old.

On September 19^th, in coincidence with the first day of Feria Hábitat Valencia, we organised a very special event at the Colegio Territorial de Arquitectos de Valencia (CTAV): a round table focused on our iconic Lapala chair on the occasion of its 25^th anniversary. Manel Molina, one of Lapala‘s designers and one of Expormim’s closer collaborators, designer, University teacher and consultant Javier Pastor and journalist and curator Tachy Mora led this colloquium about craftsmanship, design, culture and tradition.

We invite you to our new exhibition, a celebration of our history and a heartfelt tribute to our craftsmen and their valuable work. Without them, Expormim would not be what it is today.
