the echoes of 3daysofdesign
The motto of this 2026 edition of 3daysofdesign was “Make This Moment Matter”. The idea was understanding design as a child of its time. “Make This Moment Matter” captures this cultural zeitgeist, reflecting a collective recalibration from “more” to “meaningful”. Because a design without purpose is static, just occupies space, but when imbued with meaning and emotion it will matter. It means you are making conscious choices with products that don’t harm the environment, spaces that enhance your wellbeing, and places that foster a sense of belonging.
It sounds familiar because it is the way Expormim approaches and embraces design: as an answer to current problems such as sustainability, low carbon footprint, recycling, and of course, creating long-lasting, hard-wearing, soulful, meaningful objects with a very strong personality and tightly linked to our culture, tradition and history to make users’ lives more aware, more comfortable and much nicer.
The exhibition “Echoes of Space” brought together Expormim, Catalan cabinetmaker Mike Hausmann, renowned furniture brand Saba Italia, Belgian rug crafters JOV and porcelain and light studio Japan Form across a series of distinct environments, each expressing a different state of living. On the ground floor, Hausmann recreated the personal intimacy of a room through his wooden furniture collection. Saba Italia furnished the penthouse in the layered reality of an apartment, where design and daily life frame one another. JOV rugs and Japan Form lightning worked as a connective thread of texture, geometry and light.
The atrium was inhabited by Expormim: an open, generous setting where Mediterranean light and sculptural craft struck up a quiet conversation. Carefully selected pieces like Brae modular sofa, one of our latest releases by Norm Architects; Meridies armchair and travertine coffee tables by Roberto Lazzeroni; the reedition of Bench 202 by Joaquim Belsa; new Leku tables by Javier Pastor, and a couple of classic pieces (Fontal dining armchair by Oscar Tusquets and Frames rattan screen by Jaime Hayon) came together in a space that invited a deep reading of the tradition that has defined the brand since 1960.
To everyone who came to visit us, thank you once again. It was a pleasure to share this experience with you, and we already look forward to returning to Copenhagen next year.
