ivory project: home is where the heart is
Cap Falcó, Mallorca. The light of a cool autumn morning crawls from the swimming pool to the shady porches outlining the smooth contours of Plump modular sofa and Cask outdoor armchair. It is, again, the inexhaustible beauty of the Mediterranean light working its magic in our designs. Because the moment it touches them, they turn into the kind of object we always dream of in the factory: a container of souls and stories, ready to fulfill its destiny as life companion.

The sense of home has to do with the love and attachment we grow towards the objects that are part of it. Each one of them has its own heart. In our case, every piece of furniture manufactured in Expormim comes with a default soul as they already carry a heavy load of history, cultural values and tradition. Ivory Project by Espacio Home Design takes the power of natural light, the exceptional feeling of natural materials and the spirit of Expormim furniture to deliver a project, a house, that combines luxury and comfort in the exact amount to build a true sense of home.
The atrium of modern life
In Roman houses, social and family life happened mainly at the atrium, the semi-open patio located at the centre of the domus, or under the peristyle, the rear courtyard, a garden terrace often surrounded by columns, dedicated to rest and eating. Contemporary houses such as Ivory are very much designed following this centuries-old tradition. The porch and the swimming pool area kind of become the main stage for everyday activities (eating, drinking, having coffee, reading, exercising, meditating or taking a nap), all in close connection with the natural landscape around.
Ivory Project spreads over 850 m2 distributed among four floors and a spacious garden with swimming pool. The porch plays an important role in this home. It is divided into different atmospheres, smoothly flowing along the swimming pool. If we look at the house from the other side of the swimming pool as if it were a long take, on the right, placed on a wooden deck, we find two Cask outdoor chaises longues with wheels by Norm Architects. Light but resistant, easy to move and super sleek, Cask chaise longue meets all the requirements of a one hundred percent outdoor product.
Moving to the left, on a kind of transitional space between the swimming pool and the porch, Cask daybed emerges from a lush Mediterranean landscape dominated by a sculptural olive tree. Inspired by rattan, but made of high-resistance aluminium tube, this round outdoor daybed adds a romantic touch to the general picture. A cosy spot ideal for solo activities such as reading or self-reflecting.
Conviviality nooks al fresco
The open living room takes over the centre of this cinematic porch. Plump modular outdoor sofa with its appeasing soft curves and a couple of Cask outdoor armchairs with its enveloping rattan-like frame are placed against a natural stone background creating a beautiful contrast. On the other hand, Talo side tables by Altherr Désile Park which draw inspiration from prehistoric rock landscapes and replicate the texture of stone engage in a beautiful dialogue with the wall behind.
Two dining spaces close the porch on the left side. Both of them sport the same seating collection by Javier Pastor: Nido outdoor dining armchairs in its original and stackable version. The eight original Nido armchairs, with its braided rope backrest, surround a large Nude rectangular table while the stackable Nido armchairs are combined with a hexagonal Talo table. Everything in these two settings is dressed in sandy tones aiming to sooth the spirit and turn the humble and necessary act of nourishing into something lavish.
Above all, Ivory Project is a house devised to be a home. The kind of place your heart will never want to leave.
