Another year, another step further into the road leading to sustainability. It is a long road for sure, but at Expormim we keep moving forward because we believe that being sustainable is more than just a hype or a posture for the public, but a value that was already part of our business ethics eve before we learnt to label it and define it in the current terms.

 sustainability report

Our commitment to sustainability remains one of the main drivers behind our decisions. Since 2019 we have advanced a deep transformation process, expanding the number of collections made with raw materials from responsible sources and promoting the use of water-based paints for wood and rattan, reducing volatile organic compounds, and adopting recyclable and biocompostable packaging solutions. Collections such as Meridies and Leku, made entirely with FSC-certified wood, are a clear example of this.

The installation of our self-consumption photovoltaic plant in Mogente has been a decisive step in our energy transition: in 2025, 44% of our electricity consumption already came from our own generation, with the goal of reaching 48% in 2026.

One of the most significant milestones of recent years has been the calculation of the Organization’s Carbon Footprint in accordance with the UNE-EN ISO 14064 standard (scopes 1, 2 and 3), carried out together with AIDIMME. Between 2022 and 2024 we reduced our normalized carbon footprint by 35%, showing that business growth can go hand in hand with a real reduction in environmental impact. We have set ourselves the goal of achieving climate neutrality by 2035.

 sustainability report

Our commitment is not limited to the environmental sphere. We continue to strengthen our social engagement, collaborating with the Asociación San Vicente de Paúl in Mogente and taking part in solidarity initiatives such as the donation of furniture to people affected by the DANA floods, together with ANIEME and Feria Valencia.

The international recognition received by our collections shows that artisanal tradition continues to be a source of innovation: Obi received the German Design Award 2024, Loop the German Design Award 2025, and Meridies the German Design Award 2026.

These achievements represent important milestones in our journey, but they are by no means the end of the road. We will continue working towards greater circularity and an increasingly responsible approach to designing and manufacturing because for us, sustainability is not a destination, but a continuous process of improvement.
