Nestled in the Tramuntana mountain range, Son Vida neighbourhood is one of the most exclusive residential areas in Mallorca. From its vantage point, Son Vida enjoys the view of the nearby capital city of Palma and the Mediterranean sea. Vanity house stands out among the new constructions of this green residential area.

Designed by Palma-based architects Vidal Piñeiro for Sophisticated Projects & Estates luxury real state and spanning almost 800 m², Vanity house outpours elegance, cutting-edge design and smart landscaping. If there is one trait common to all Mediterranean peoples, it is their tendency to live outdoors. Vanity house is a clear example of this with its vast covered terraces that convert into living areas for all year round use. Besides, thanks to its overlapping volumes and clever openings, the house integrates the sky, the rocks and the pine forest surrounding it. Its many huge windows, porches and shaded areas are a celebration of the Mediterranean way of living.

A glamourous poolside with Käbu chaise longue

The magnificent access to the infinity pool carved in natural white stone evokes the grandstand of a Roman amphitheatre. It smoothly extends into a kind of jetty over the water where two Käbu deck chairs with wheels watch in respectful silence the lush Mediterranean forest at their feet.

This couple of Käbu outdoor sun beds with its aluminium frame and high-quality upholstery are designed to withstand the wear and tear of the elements and because of its lightness and wheels, they can be easily moved. The Japanese-inspired elegance of Käbu outdoor chaise longue enhances the beauty and glamour of this floating solarium.

The porch: where outdoor and indoor meet and mingle

In Vanity house, outdoor and indoor spaces flow naturally, not only as a result of its clever architecture, but also because of the materials and textures used both outside and inside in order to create a continuum.

The ample porch overlooking the swimming pool, the mountains and the city beyond has been furnished with three of our most recent outdoor collections: Obi modular sofa and Liz low armchair by Ludovica + Palomba, and Talo outdoor side tables by Altherr Désile Park.

Sheltered by a limestone wall and flanked by palm trees, the porch is dominated by an Obi modular composition that frames the space along with two Liz low armchairs. The soft-looking, crème-coloured sofa contrasts with the tightly upholstered, slate-gray armchairs. And at the same time they effortlessly complement each other.

Three Talo hexagonal side tables in three different colours (terracotta, slate and stone) and three different sizes prove how a bold design can become a perfect match: thanks to being made of concrete, this set of coffee tables provide extra texture and also pay tribute to Mallorca’s archaeological heritage as they originally draw inspiration from its famous prehistoric monoliths.

Dining with patio vibes

Where the wall is missing, Obi modular sofa works as a dividing element and also as a piece of décor for its beautiful orange belt is exposed here. Behind the sofa, there is a dining area with a small kitchen island open to a fantastic patio with a sculptural olive tree. Alongside the island, we find four Petale high stools by MUT Design Studio, a minimalistic upholstered bar stool with thin stainless steel tube legs and compact seat and backrest.

Petale high stool curved lines are in tune with Blum dining armchair by Manel Molina. Dressed in the same light gray colour, Blum upholstered dining armchair sports FSC® sapele wood legs instead of the original high-resistance aluminium tube thus turning them into a warmer indoor option. The six Blum dining armchairs are arranged around the indoor version of Atrivm dining table also designed by Manel Molina with a flat lacquered tabletop and solid wood legs matching the chairs and the slats in the kitchen wall.

Vanity house contains all the essentials of a Mediterranean home: natural materials such as wood and stone, the predominance of white and the porches and patios integrating the landscape around, but with a radically contemporary edge and in spite of its name, unaffected luxury.
